Microsoft shocked the world, revealing the latest iteration of the Xbox, the Xbox Series X at the 2019 Game Awards, with a gorgeous trailer. You can head over to the full Official Announcement from Microsoft for full details, but here’s a few key bullet points cover…
- The Xbox Series X features a “next-generation SSD will virtually eliminate load times.” This falls in line with all current next-gen consoles converting to SSD.
- It’ll support 60fps at 4K, “with possibility of up to 120FPS,” and will also support 8K visuals.
- While the controller looks the same, it is technically different with a refined shape for more accessibility, as well as a new “Share” button. Additionally, the new d-pad is derived from the latest Xbox Elite Controller 2. Lastly, the controller will be compatible with all versions of Xbox and PC.
- The Xbox Series X is fully backwards compatible, and will play absolutely everything that the Xbox One will play.
The Xbox Series X launches Holiday 2020. Expect a much more comprehensive reveal at E3 2020.
