Pacific Rim: Uprising Debuts IMAX Trailer

A new trailer for Pacific Rim: Uprising has debuted, promoting the film’s appropriate release on IMAX. The trailer is 2 and a half minutes of literal non-stop action, and spoils a whole lot of the movie. At least that’s what we’re led to believe. The IMAX version of Pacific Rim: Uprising will be digitally remastered, to help put you right in the middle of the giant robot action.

Pacific Rim: Uprising hits theaters on March 23rd.

The Incredibles 2 Olympics Sneak Peek

Disney Pixar has finally unveiled an incredible first look at The Incredibles 2, and it looks just as fantastic as the first film. The jokes are great, and the animation looks even more fluid than the first film, albeit with its now-trademark retro-styling.

The Incredibles 2 is due in theaters June 15th, 2018, with Craig T. Nelson, and Holly Hunter reprising their roles, joined by Sarah Vowell, Huck Milner, Samuel L. Jackson, Bob Odenkirk, Catherine Keener, Jonathan Banks, Sophia Bush, Isabella Rossellini and Brad Bird.

New Comic Books: February 14

NEWCOMICS

WW
This was a fantastic issue that not only solidifed a new, impressively brutal rogue for Wonder Woman, but also built several future stories for the Amazon Warrior. The crazed doctor studying Silver Swan, and the mysterious portal that stole away Jason. It seems that Diana has an interesting rest of the year in place, and I’m looking forward to where it goes. Particularly the Darkseid aspect of all of this.
fl
It would make sense that the first moment that Barry has without his powers, he would jump at the chance to have a normal life. Almost immediately passing the mantle of The Flash back to Wally West, who hasn’t been the go-to Flash in well over a decade. It was also refreshing to see Grodd as a legitimate threat to the Flash, and Central City, which The Flash hasn’t truly had in quite some time. The Rogues are fun, but they’re never really a believable threat… Grodd comes in, and in two issues he’s beaten The Flash. Impressive.
SWW
This was the least interesting of the Young Animal crossovers from a story perspective, but from a design perspective this was an absolute marvel. The small hints of Diana’s real form in the Wonder Wife world were subtle, but phenomenal. I particularly liked the shot of Diana’s shadow that revealed her true form, but featured her red star on her tiara. That was an incredibly beautiful shot, and absolutely worth reading for that alone.
SWS
It’s shocking to me how fun all of these new Post-Metal heroes have been. Each book has been so different from the last, with some genuinely interesting and charming introductions for these new heroes. My hope is that they last, because DC has done a fantastic job of building them up to be a big deal, with some great issue 1’s to follow suit.
GL
First off, Kyle Rayner’s costume with Hal’s ring is so legit. That’s one of the coolest costumes Kyle has ever worn, which is saying something. Second, Zod has quite a plan here, luring the Corps to a planet that contains ore that can pierce constructs. I wonder what it is about this planet’s ore that makes it so unique? Lastly, Hal’s sacrifice to get Kyle off-world to get help is why he’s one of my favorite superheroes.
DC
The death of Basil aka Clayface was made so much more tragic by the real loss felt by Cassandra. That was a beautiful relationship that, in my opinion, felt so natural somehow. Her sadness just leapt off the page, and it made it perfect. Even Batwoman’s indifference and uncaring for how she just murdered a friend was apparent. She never flinched, and never once wavered in her decision. The war between her and the Bat-family will certainly be something to keep an eye on.
DM
Neal Adams’ Deadman remains one of DC’s most batshit insane reads, and while things seem to be making more and more sense, it’s still difficult to follow. Boston Brand is being used by Ra’s Al Ghul, and his family is the tool that’s manipulating him. A lost brother, taken by the League, that enjoys his time there, and a family, knowing too well his destiny. It’s getting interesting.
WH
This was both immensely confusing, and horrifyingly entertaining. I’ll read anything with Detectiv Chimp in it, and the hope that the heroes have finally defeated one of the Dark Knights is great. But, once again, it was all just part of the plan. They’ve mapped out everything. Every outcome that the heroes could try, they’ve figured out and countered against it from the very beginning. There’s one last issue of Metal left, so let’s keep it firing on all cylinders.
AC
Admittedly, I feel as if this story has nearly run its course. The Booster Gold plot has been interesting, but it’s starting to drag a bit for me. Vice-versa, the Lois Lane rescuing her Father side-plot has been far more entertaining. Sam Lane hasn’t been a presence in the Superman books for years, and it’s nice to see him back in the fold in any capacity. Hopefully the next issue will start to wrap things up, and take us forward.
2N1
I just started reading this after I remembered that Fantastic Four bits of Marvel Legacy were fantastic, and this is immediately a really good read. The Fantastic Four have always been some of Marvel’s best stories, and this is no different, even with an incomplete family. Also, the “post-credits” scene with Wolverine and Hydro-Man was pretty great.

Final Incredibles 2 Teaser Poster

IC2

Disney Pixar have released one last teaser poster before today’s much-anticipated look at The Incredibles 2 during the Winter Olympics coverage. Disney has been keeping mum on a lot of footage from the film, so it should be excited today to get a look at one of Pixar’s most anxiously awaited sequels. Hit the jump for a full look at the poster.

Everyone’s favorite family of superheroes is back in “Incredibles 2” – but this time Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is in the spotlight, leaving Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell) and Dash (voice of Huck Milner) to navigate the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life. It’s a tough transition for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again—which is easier said than done, even when they’re all Incredible. Directed by Brad Bird (“Iron Giant,” “The Incredibles”) and produced by John Walker (“The Incredibles”) and Nicole Grindle (“Sanjay’s Super Team” short, “Toy Story 3” associate producer), “Incredibles 2” busts into theaters on June 15, 2018.

New Rampage Trailer Features a Ton of New Footage

Warner Bros. has released the second full trailer for The Rock’s upcoming video game adaptation, Rampage, which looks like one hell of a fun romp full of giant monsters and city destruction. Basically exactly what you’d expect from a film based on the popular video game.

Johnson plays primatologist Davis Okoye, who befriends a rare silverback gorilla. But things go horribly wrong when his friend becomes the victim of a genetic experiment that affects him and two other creatures that quickly lay waste to downtown Chicago. Joining Johnson in Rampage are Naomie Harris, Malin Akerman, Jake Lacey, Joe Manganiello and and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Rampage hits theaters on April 20th.

New Batman Ninja Trailer Released

Warner Bros. Animation has released a new trailer for Batman Ninja that features the debut of the English voice-cast as well as the final release date for the much-anticipated film, set for May 8th, on Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital.

Batman: Arkham Origins‘ Roger Craig Smith returns to the role of Batman for the upcoming film, with Tony Hale as the Joker. Grey Griffin (Scooby-Doo franchise) and Tara Strong (Batman: The Killing Joke) supply the voices of the antagonist & protagonist’s closest allies – Catwoman and Harley Quinn, respectively – while Fred Tatasciore (Family Guy) provides the voice of Gorilla Grodd. Other voice actors include Bat-family members Yuri Lowenthal (Ben 10: Omniverse) as Robin, Adam Croasdell (Reign) as Nightwing and Alfred, and Will Friedle (Boy Meets World) as Red Robin.

Geoff Johns Confirms Doom Patrol in Titans

DP

Writer, and head of Creative with DC Entertainment, Geoff Johns, has confirmed that the Titans won’t be alone in their live-action debut on DC’s streaming service, as episode 5 will feature the introduction of the Doom Patrol. The Doom Patrol is a superhero team consisting of many of DC’s more eccentric characters, made popular by Grant Morrison in the early-90’s.

Beast Boy was an original member of the Doom Patrol, so it’s possible that factors into their inclusion, but with Hawk and Dove also joining the Titans, it’s looking to be a haven for lesser known live-action debuts of DC characters.

Alex Garland Interested in a Swamp Thing Film?

ST

During a Reddit AMA recently, fan-favorite genre writer/director Alex Garland was asked which comic book property he would love to take on if given the chance. His answer was surprising, but would be incredible: Swamp Thing. Garland is the well-known writer of Dredd, and director of Ex Machina, and the upcoming Annihilation, starring Natalie Portman.

Warner Bros. attempts at developing a Justice League Dark film have fallen flat as several directors have left the project following disputes with the studio, and constant delays. Garland would be a fantastic choice to polish the script, and bring the film to life with its many incredible characters.

Splatoon 2’s Pop Idol Duo Getting Amiibo Figures

At Tokaigi 2018, Nintendo revealed two new amiibo figures featuring Splatoon 2 characters Pearl and Marina, the game’s pop idol duo Off the Hook. The duo also performed at the event, directly after the Koshien 2018 tournament.

The figures will be available in a two-pack at all major retailers for $24.99. Splatoon 2 is available now for the Nintendo Switch.

Suda51’s The 25th Ward: The Silver Case Heading to America

It’s always been pretty unlikely we would ever see it, but NIS America announced during its Press Event 2018 that Suda51’s visual novel adventure game, The 25th Ward: The Silver Case, will release in North America and Europe on March 13th and 16th, respectively. The game is set to release for PlayStation 4, and PC.

It has been five years since the events of 1999’s The Silver Case set in the new 25th Ward that arose in the bayside area of Kanto. In a room of the “Bayside Tower Land” apartment complex, a woman is found murdered under mysterious circumstances. This sets off a series of seemingly random events bridging across multiple protagonists including The Silver Case’s Tokio Morishima. With all viewpoints assembled, a truly shocking pattern emerges…

Michael Bay in Talks For Lobo

lobo

According to The Wrap, divisive action-director, Michael Bay, is being tapped to direct a live-action Lobo film for Warner Bros. The film is set to be the studios attempt at combating Deadpool and his succcess, so the often vulgar Bay would be a perfect choice to direct an R-Rated film about the Main Man.

Bay has met with DC to discuss the project and give writer Jason Fuchs (Wonder Woman) notes on the initial screenplay, which he’s currently re-writing. Afterwards, the studio will give it to Bay as a bid for the project.
