MAX LVL: I’m Not Made by Design – Nothing But Thieves

radio

Another strong suggestion from Spotify that’s made for some fantastic working music, and been in my rotation for a little while now. Nothing But Thieves is killing it, and easily one of the best new alternative bands.

MAX LVL: Kiss of Death – Mika Nakashima (feat. Hyde)

radio

The opening song for Darling in the Franxx is one of the best I’ve heard from the genre in quite some time, and I was surprised to see it on Spotify. But, that surprise quickly turned to satisfaction, because even without the addition of the opening itself, the song is fantastic.

MAX LVL: 「ララバイ」- WANIMA

radio

Discovering that Spotify had J-Rock was undoubtedly one of the best things to happen all year, and it’s only March. One of those highlights is absolutely WANIMA, with their fun baselines and endless pace. Absolutely worth digging more into, but this has been on MAX LVL for several weeks now, and it’s still in rotation.

Super Mario Odyssey Theme

Nintendo has released the endlessly-catchy theme song that present in the new gameplay trailer for Super Mario Odyssey, and it’s something else. A big brass band plays, with some fantastic meta vocals by Pauline, the damsel-in-distress from the original Donkey Kong game, who just so happens to also be the mayor of New Donk City, the home of Odyssey.
