I love the crossover between the “Invisible Mafia” angle that’s been happening in Action Comics for months, and with Leviathan. But, I’m not sure bringing Luthor, … Continue reading Pull Box: The Last Two Weeks…
The motivations of Thomas Wayne are still such a damn mystery to me. He wants his son, but he’s willing to shoot him and cause him … Continue reading Pull Box: November 6

So many mysteries and holes remain in Lex Luthor’s grand plan with Perpetua, but he inches closer and closer to achieving his goals, while the Justice League attempt to deal with Perpetua herself. The one they deem a larger problem, though in the end I fear that won’t be the case, as Luthor positions himself atop something our heroes can’t yet even begin to fathom. A fairly straightforward issue this time. Using small battles to reveal who’s alive, and who isn’t. With Mera, Harley Quinn, and Black Lightning clearly set to be major players in this zombie book moving forward. … Continue reading Pull Box: July 3
A new villain! Or is she a hero? Victorious and her purpose is still up in the air, but she is most certainly a tool for one of Doctor Doom’s many schemes. This one saw her act as a lure for Galactus, most likely as some sort of display of power for Latveria, though he doesn’t exactly need it. It’s nice to see the team back in action together, though. It’s also much appreciated that they didn’t forget the history between Franklin Richards and Galactus, one of my favorite pairings from Marvel in many years. This lead-up to Detective Comics … Continue reading Pull Box: January 16
Actress, Margot Kidder, best known for her portrayal of Lois Lane in the famous Christoper Reeve-starring Superman films of the ’70s and ‘80s, passed yesterday. Her cause of death has not yet been released. She was 69 years old. Her portrayal of the fearless reporter in the films helped shape who the character is, today, and still remains the most iconic version. As her fame declined in the 90’s, she re-emerged in cameo roles, such as her time on Smallville, where she guest-starred alongside Reeve to help guide Tom Welling’s Clark Kent. Our thoughts and love are with her friends and … Continue reading R.I.P. Margot Kidder (48-18)
This was an incredibly long and heartfelt tribute to the most important comic book of all time. Action Comics introduced the world to Superman, the first superhero, and paved the way for every one after, and it’s now been 1,000 issues since his introduction and he continues to inspire and move forward. The stories in this book were phenomenal. The short with Superman saying goodbye to the Earth as the sun expands to heat-death, enveloping the planet. Even the wonderfully creative short about the man driving the car on the cover of Action Comics #1. It was all so emotional, … Continue reading Pull Box: April 18
