Nintendo has released a new story trailer for the upcoming Nintendo Switch title, Yoshi’s Crafted World. The game was revealed back in 2017, and ended up as a no-show for 2018. Now, however, the game has its own release date, set for March 29th.
While the trailer is, of course, light on actual plot, it serves as a great introduction to the charming band of Yoshi that the player will be controlling when Yoshi’s Crafted World releases.
Nintendo hosted a Nintendo Direct for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate this morning, the final before its release. The Direct revealed the final two fighters found in the main game as Ken from Street Fighter, and Incineroar from the Pokemon series. The Direct also detailed new amiibo figures, and several new modes for the upcoming game.
The latest mode, Spirits Mode, replaces collectible trophies in the series, and will serve as support for players through the story mode with hundreds of interesting characters to be found. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate launches on the Nintendo Switch on December 7th.
Nintendo has confirmed that the Super Nintendo: Classic Edition is not only a real thing, but is launching later this year, on September 29th, for $79.99! In the box, you get an AC Adapter, HDMI Cable, and two wired SNES Classic Controllers. The system features 21 titles, including the previously unreleased StarFox 2, which is an absolute shock to the system.
The miniature console also includes: Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country, F-Zero, Super Mario Kart, Zelda LTTP, SF2 Turbo, Super Metroid, Super Punch-Out, Castlevania IV, Mega Man X, Kirby Super Star, Final Fantasy III, Kirby’s Dream Course, StarFox 1, Yoshi’s Island (First official re-release EVER by Nintendo), Super Mario RPG, Contra 3, Secret of Mana, EarthBound, and Super Ghouls n Ghosts.
Nintendo didn’t have a whole lot to say this year. With Nintendo Switch sales continuing to be the hottest ticket in the industry, right now, all they had to do was keep the hype train rolling their innovative console and its games.
The surprises were good here, albeit not very full, but there were a few moments that stood out. While there was no trailer, confirmation of a core RPG Pokemon title for the Nintendo Switch has been a fever dream for years on home consoles. So, I haven’t covered much of ARMS. Mostly because I’m jealous that I don’t have a Switch, and while ARMS looked like a whatever game, at first, it has most certainly won me over with its charming and over the top characters. The most of which is most definitely Twintelle, which Nintendo has released a gameplay trailer (seen above) for.
ARMS will release for the Nintendo Switch on June 16, 2017.
