Nobuo Uematsu Confirmed for Final Fantasy VII Remake

Final Fantasy VII fans can breathe a small sigh of relief, as Final Fantasy VII Remake producer Yoshinori Kitase confirmed in a recent interview that legendary composer Nobuo Uematsu is in fact working on the upcoming remake. It’s been a while since we’ve heard any updates on the remake, but we should expect to hear something this year at Square Enix’s E3 panel.

I’ve worked on numerous titles with Uematsu-san, and while I’m currently working on the production of Final Fantasy VII Remake, it’s actually been since Final Fantasy X that I directly worked with Uematsu-san. So when I first went to ask Uematsu-san to come work on the music for the remake, I thought he would give me the cold shoulder since he had already left Square Enix and found success.

A New Itadaki Street is on the Way!

You’d be forgiven for having never heard of Itadaki Street before. The wonderfully charming and original concept takes popular Square Enix characters from Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest, and places them in a Monopoly-style board game. The character designs are wonderful, and the game is incredibly fun.

Fortunately, Square Enix knows that also! During their recent live-stream, Itadaki Street: Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary was announced for PlayStation 4 and PS VITA. The game is set to release in October in Japan.
