We’ve known for months that Disney was planning a Scarlet Witch-focused mini-series for its upcoming streaming service, Disney+, but we now have confirmation of the series’ title, and an additional character. The series will be officially titled The Vision and Scarlet Witch and feature Paul Battany and Elizabeth Olsen reprising their respective roles.
Deadline has no additional information on the series, as the plot is being kept severely under wraps. Given timelines, it’s possible that the series could follow the duo before the events of Avengers: Infinity War, or perhaps even after. We’ll have to wait and see.
Variety is reporting that another Marvel mini-series is being worked on for the upcoming Disney streaming service, with this one gaining more traction a little quicker than the others. This makes it the only Marvel streaming series to have a writer attached.
Additionally, it’s also being reported that the previously announcedScarlet Witch series will co-star Paul Bettany’s Vision, and be more about the couple themselves, than just Wanda Maximoff.
It seems that DC Entertainment isn’t the only name in the streaming service game anymore, as Variety is reporting that Disney and Marvel Studios are developing two limited event series, focusing on Loki, and Scarlet Witch. Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen are expected to reprise their respective roles, with large budgets to ensure the series are done right.
It’s speculated that the shows will be 6 episodes each, with Kevin Feige in charge of production, ensuring that they fall in line completely with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, unlike current television counterparts. Additionally, no creative teams have been attached as of yet, but expect to hear more, soon.
