Men in Black International is Official

We have now learned, thanks to Brazil Comic-Con taking place this weekend, that the upcoming Men in Black “requel” releasing next summer is officially titled Men in Black International. The movie will see Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson’s Agents H and M travel the globe to deal with all manner of extraterrestrial threats. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are not expected to reprise the roles that helped make the franchise famous in the first three films.

Also starring Emma Thompson, Rebecca Ferguson, Kumail Najiani, and Rafe Spall, Men in Black International is set to hit theaters on June 14th, 2019.

Liam Neeson Joining Men in Black

Variety is reporting that Sony Pictures is currently in talks with Academy Award-nominee Liam Neeson (Taken) to join their upcoming Men In Black film, which will see Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson reprise their Thor: Ragnarok partnership in the lead roles. The plot and character details for the film are all under tight lock and key, so it’s unknown who he will be playing.

F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton) will be directing with a script from Iron Man scribes Matt Holloway, and Art Marcum. Production is expected to begin this summer, with a June 14th, 2019 release date set.

Chris Hemsworth in Talks for Men in Black Spinoff

Chris Hemsworth is no stranger to aliens at this point, with Thor: Ragnarok, and Avengers: Infinity War both under his belt, but The Hollywood Reporter has word that he’s not finished yet. Hemsworth is in talks to star in the upcoming Men in Black spinoff set to hit theaters on June 14th, 2019. THR also reveals our first bit of plot for the film which will take place in London, and centers around a new batch of characters that include “a white character, a black woman, and an older man.”

The new untitled Men in Black film is set to be directed by F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton, The Fate of the Furious) and is been written by Matt Holloway & Art Marcum (Iron Man). Producers Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald are back, along with executive producer Steven Spielberg.

Men in Black Spinoff in the Works

Deadline is reporting that Sony Pictures is developing a Men in Black spinoff based on a script by Matt Holloway and Art Marcum (Iron Man, Transformers: The Last Knight). The article states that the story of the new film will focus more on the Men in Black organization as a whole, on its global scale, rather than just a single branch in New York.

Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will not be reprising their starring roles, though cameos are not off the table. The new film will instead focus on a new team of MIB, and is being fast-tracked for a May 2019 release.
