It’s no secret that Disney has been working on getting a live-action Aladdin film off the ground for quite some time, with casting issues being the prime onus on the film. However, it would seem that Disney has worked out the kinks, with a few rumors coming to fruition in this case.
Mena Massoud (Jack Ryan) has been cast as the lead role of Aladdin, with Naomi Scott (Power Rangers) taking the role of Jasmine. The Genie is the surprise here, as Will Smith has been cast in the role of wise-cracking magical being. The film is also said to take inspiration from the animated film, as well as 1,001 Arabian Nights, so it should be a fun adventure film.
Warner Bros. Japan has released the first look at the upcoming live-action Bleach film, releasing next year in Japan. The trailer is short and doesn’t give us much to work with, but we do get a look at Sota Fukushi as Ichigo Kurosaki, his orange hair, and his massive sword.
Not much is known about the film, currently, but it’s expected to follow the substitute shinigami arc, which truthfully this short bit of footage would most likely support, given the large disappearing hollow hand.
Later this year, Valiant Entertainment plans to bring to light their first of many live-action features that are spotlighting the publisher’s amazing group of B-Level (but still fucking awesome) superheroes. Many are well known, others not so much. But it’s always nice to see more deserving heroes get the live-action treatment. In celebration of this, Valiant is releasing some badass variant covers now-through-August for much of their main line.
