TOHO Animation and Polygon Pictures have shared the first, action-packed, trailer for the new animated film, and second in the trilogy, Godzilla: City On The Edge of Battle. The new trailer is entirely new footage with our first look at MechaGodzilla in action, as well as the mysterious denizens of Earth, 10,000 years into the future.
If you haven’t checked out the first film, and are a fan of kaiju films, it’s absolutely worth a watch and is available in several languages on Netflix.
A new trailer for Pacific Rim: Uprising has debuted, promoting the film’s appropriate release on IMAX. The trailer is 2 and a half minutes of literal non-stop action, and spoils a whole lot of the movie. At least that’s what we’re led to believe. The IMAX version of Pacific Rim: Uprising will be digitally remastered, to help put you right in the middle of the giant robot action.
Pacific Rim: Uprising hits theaters on March 23rd.
Legendary Pictures and Universal Pictures have released the new Pacific Rim: Uprising trailer, which you can watch in the player above. The new trailer gives us more specifics to its mysterious story, with confirmation that the Kaiju were able to re-enter our world thanks to the machinations of an unseen force on our side of the breach.
The trailer is heavy on action, light on story (still), but does a good job of selling the movie ahead of its release on March 23rd.
Earth Defense Force 5 releases in just over a week in Japan, and D3Publisher has released a new trailer in the form of a news program from the EDF News, and a recruitment video for the Earth Defense Force. The trailer gives us more information regarding playable units in the game, as well as a bit more on the story itself.
Earth Defense Force is one of the more endearing game franchises with a random but timeless theme, and one of the few that seems to get better and better as consoles grow and become more powerful.
Toho Animation and Polygon Pictures have shared the latest trailer for the upcoming Netflix anime film starring the world-famous Kaiju, Godzilla: Monster Planet. The newest trailer gives us plenty more footage of the new Godzilla, said to be plant-based this time, along with a ton of explosions, and epic battles.
That all of this happens while some fantastic J-POP bumps in the background makes it all the more… Japan. This is definitely high on my excitement list, and can’t wait.
Pacific Rim was not the most well-received film critically, or financially, but it was a success among fans of the Kaiju genre, and they’ll be certainly delighted to learn that Pacific Rim: Uprising director, Steven S. DeKnight, has spoken with Warner Bros. about the potential of the series crossing over into the Legendary Monster-verse and doing battle with Godzilla, King Kong, and all of them!
“I won’t say there’s an Easter Egg but there’s been a lot of discussion about that possibility [of crossing over]. Look I think it would be fantastic to have the Pacific Rim universe join Legendary’s Monster Universe, it seems like a natural step. And part of the big overall plan after the third movie we’ve talked about is that could happen, it’s always a possibility. It’s by far not a certainty; it’s merely theoretical at this point, but as a fan myself I would love to see that happen,” said DeKnight. Given that Pacific Rim is in the future, these films could easily cross over, with Godzilla re-emerging from the depths in their time.
During the official New York Comic-Con panel for Pacific Rim: Uprising, the cast of the film unveiled the first full trailer, giving us a look at what to expect in the film next year. The Jaeger program has become the Earth’s leading defense force, now called the Pan-Pacific Defense Force. Jake Pentecost ( John Boyega), son of Stacker Pentecost (Idris Elba), has been brought back into the fold by his adoptive sister, Mako Mori (Rinko Kikuchi), now leading the PPDF, to prepare for the next wave of Kaiju threats.
Pacific Rim: Uprising hits theaters March 23rd, 2018.

Toho Animation and Polygon Pictures have released a new trailer for the upcoming Netflix-animated film, Godzilla: Monster Planet, and with the new trailer, we have our first good look at the all-new Godzilla design created specifically for the animated film. The film follows hero, Haruo, who is selected to return to Earth with one purpose in mind after witnessing his parents death before his eyes: defeat Godzilla.
Godzilla: Monster Planet debuts in Japan this November followed by a release on Netflix. Godzilla: Monster Planet is from Polygon Pictures and directed by Kobun Shizuno and Hiroyuki Shshita, with a script from Gen Urobuchi.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters is in full swing, with production being 41 days in, and the teases continue to follow. This morning, director Mike Dougherty teased a fascinating connection to the 1954 original film, showing a picture of the original Oxygen Destroyer, created by that film’s Dr. Serizawa. The device would remove the oxygen from any body of water it was placed in, effectively defeating Godzilla.
Ken Watanabe played a Dr. Serizawa in the 2014 film, and is reprising his role for the sequel, but it’s unclear how his character may fit with this device, given they are meant to be two separate characters. Hit the jump to take a look at the initial tweet from Mike Dougherty.

Haruo Nakajima, the suit actor who played Godzilla from 1954’s Godzilla to 1972’s Godzilla vs. Gigan, has passed away, after contracting pneumonia. He was 88 years old. The man most famous for originally donning the suit that created one of the most famous film characters in history, initially did not receive his due respect, but after several years, he has since become a legend among fans of the franchise.
He will be greatly missed, and my thoughts and love go to his family and loved ones.
