Entertainment Weekly posted several updates today regarding several of the new alien races, Luke Skywalker himself, and the leader of the First Order, Snoke from Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi. We’ve learned that Luke wasn’t alone on the planet Ahch-To, location of the first Jedi temple, as he’s joined by a small race of furry creatures, the Porgs, and an anthromorphic race of aquatic creatures that maintain the structures on the island, called the Caretakers.
The other big news is in regards to Snoke, and our first look at his incredible bodyguards, the Praetorian Guard. Hit the jump to get a full look at several new stills from the film.

Well, the apocalypse was cancelled, and the second apocalypse has been delayed, as Pacific Rim: Uprising has been pushed back from February 23, 2018 to March 23, 2018. The news, first reported by Variety, was later confirmed by director, Steven DeKnight.
This is the third time the film has been delayed since it was originally announced in June 2012, shifting from several titles to its current form. The first trailer for Pacific Rim: Uprising is expected to debut soon.
The first trailer for Pacific Rim: Uprising gives us no story, but instead focuses on what we came for: beautiful, gigantic Jaegers. The Jaegers, giant robots from the first film that were used to fight kaiju, are getting an upgrade in this film, with the focus on newer models, instead of the previously older, Gipsy Danger. The new primary Jaeger is Gipsy Avenger, piloted by John Boyega’s character. There’s also Guardian Bravo, Titan Redeemer, Bracer Phoenix, and Saber Athena.
We also have a new viral website for the film, revealing blueprints of the new Jaeger styles, and confirming that Pacific Rim: Uprising is set 10 years after the original. Pacific Rim: Uprising is currently expected to hit theaters February 23, 2018.
Yesterday, we covered the unveiling of the Star Wars: The Last Jedi Vanity Fair covers, and today, that same issue is offering us our first taste of new details of Rian Johnson’s eighth film in the Star Wars Saga. The photos offer us our first look at Benicio Del Toro’s engimatic character, DJ. As well as Laura Dern’s Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo, a high-ranking member of the Alliance. We also get a few behind the scenes shots, some action shots, and a touching photo of Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher (seen above).
The other few items were given offer a few story hints, such as the new shining “casino city” Canto Bight, which will offer a rare glimpse of wealth in a universe rife with sandy desolation. Hit the jump for a look at the many new photos.
