Vanity Fair Reveals its Star Wars: Episode IX Issue

It’s almost become tradition since the acquisition of LucasFilm by Disney that Vanity Fair’s Annie Leibovitz appears to take the most gorgeous photos of production on each an every Star Wars film. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is no different with the magazine revealing a slew of new photos and reveals.

The new photos reveal Keri Russell’s character, Zorri Bliss, as well as the Knights of Ren, first teased back in The Force Awakens. Hit the jump for a full look at all of the photos and what they mean.

First Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Trailer Now Online

The presentation on Star Wars: Episode IX finished up moments ago, giving us the official title for the definitive end to the Skywalker Saga, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. On top of that, we also received the first teaser trailer for the film, showing the young cast, and a returning Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will hit theaters worldwide on December 20th, officially wrapping up one of the largest, most influential sagas of films in cinema history. Star Wars: Force Friday II Lineup Revealed

Tomorrow is September 1st, and that means the long-awaited day for collectors is finally upon us: Force Friday II. Star Wars has unveiled the full lineup of toys, collectibles, apparel, and more for the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

The reveal shows several new characters such as the adorably evil looking BB-9E, as well as a look at Supreme Leader Snoke, and more. Hit the jump to check out the full reveal.

Star Wars Vanity Fair Shoot Offers New Details

Yesterday, we covered the unveiling of the Star Wars: The Last Jedi Vanity Fair covers, and today, that same issue is offering us our first taste of new details of Rian Johnson’s eighth film in the Star Wars Saga. The photos offer us our first look at Benicio Del Toro’s engimatic character, DJ. As well as Laura Dern’s Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo, a high-ranking member of the Alliance. We also get a few behind the scenes shots, some action shots, and a touching photo of Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher (seen above).

The other few items were given offer a few story hints, such as the new shining “casino city” Canto Bight, which will offer a rare glimpse of wealth in a universe rife with sandy desolation. Hit the jump for a look at the many new photos.

Star Wars Vanity Fair Covers

For each Star Wars film, dating back to Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Vanity Fair does an exclusive photo-shoot, revealing images and new details for the film first. They’re always a fantastic affair, and the new reveals for Rian Johnson’s Episode IX: The Last Jedi are beautiful beyond compare.

The four covers can be seen after the jump. The first shows the light side of the Force, with Luke and Rey. The second, spotlights The First Order, Kylo Ren, Captain Phasma, and General Hux. The third, shows the Alliance, with Poe Dameron, Finn, and new character Rose Tico. The last, by way of tribute, shows the always radiant Carrie Fisher as Princess General Leia.
