Bandai Namco has announced the long awaited closed beta for Dragonball FighterZ will run from September 16-18. Open registration has been moved to August 22 (instead of July 26 as originally announced). The change ensures the company can properly handle the expected massive number of signups.
The title has been a massive success for Arc System Works since its announcement at this year’s E3, with lines at EVO reaching a couple hours long at some points to play the game. It’s the perfect storm to place Arc’s fabled Guilty Gear engine alongside DBZ, and should be a fantastic time for fans of the series.
WWE announced last night that Brock Lesnar’s WWE Universal Championship will be decided in a Fatal 4-way match at next month’s Summerslam. Brock Lesnar (Champion) will defend against Roman Reigns, Samoa Joe, and Braun Strowman. If there’s one thing I love, it’s crossovers. Seeing multiple worlds intersect is always fascination, and combined with the Geese Howard announcement we just received, this BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle announcement is just as awesome. The game will include Persona 4‘s protagonist, Yu Narukam, from the Persona 4 Arena fighting game in addition to several other characters.
Arc System Works also revealed that the upcoming game will include fighters not just from Persona, but also RWBY and Under Night In-Birth as well. The game will be available sometime in 2018.
Bandai Namco revealed at EVO 2017 that Fatal Fury-fan favorite character, Geese Howard, will be the newest DLC character in Tekken 7. Howard is the main antagonist of the Fatal Fury series, as well as a mainstay of The King of Fighters series.

The next character in the first round of DLC for Injustice 2 is available for players on all systems, today. Sub-Zero, Master of the Lin Kuei, is now a player option. Check out the trailer above for his full-set, as well as his beautifully smooth ultimate.
The last remaining character in the first batch of DLC is Starfire, with a second round of DLC most likely announced at San Diego Comic-Con.
Dragonball Fighter Z is getting a lot of attention since its reveal at E3, and for good reason. It’s been a while since Arc System Works has been in the news so frequently, but it’s a welcome sight with their incredible engine that seems tailor-made for a title such as this.
Even simple things like adding Future Trunks (that’s not simple, that’s awesome) makes headlines. On top of that, we also have confirmation that Dragonball Fighter Z is receiving a beta for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, before the game’s release in 2018.
So, I haven’t covered much of ARMS. Mostly because I’m jealous that I don’t have a Switch, and while ARMS looked like a whatever game, at first, it has most certainly won me over with its charming and over the top characters. The most of which is most definitely Twintelle, which Nintendo has released a gameplay trailer (seen above) for.
ARMS will release for the Nintendo Switch on June 16, 2017.
NetherRealm Studios has shared the first character trailer from DLC Pack 1, showcasing Jason Todd’s Red Hood fighter. The trailer relies heavily on known rivalries, as it pits Jason against the Joker, and Damian Wayne.
Red Hood will be released alongside Starfire, and Sub-Zero, in the “Fighter Pack 1” for Injustice 2. Currently, there is no release date for the DLC, but we should be hearing soon. Injustice 2 is available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Capcom has released a character introduction film for the newest DLC character, named simply Ed. The video shows Capcom Community Manager, Matt Edwards, talking over gameplay footage of the character that spotlights his Psycho-Powered abilities, and various V-moves. He seems to be fairly balanced, as far as mid-range abilities go, with his Psycho powers being particularly useful against other ranged attacks.
For Season 2, the Street Fighter V roster will grow from 22 to 28 with six additional characters. Street Fighter is playable on PlayStation 4 and PC.
