Marvel’s Daredevil Season 3 is set to hit Netflix later this year, and we know that the season will adapt Daredevil’s famous Born Again storyline, with Murdock taking on Wilson Fisk, aka The Kingpin once again. However, it’s been confirmed that Wilson Bethel (How to Get Away With Murder) will be playing another key figure, Daredevil’s arch-nemesis, Bullseye.
Thanks to Naqam Washington, the personal trainer for both Charlie Cox, and Wilson Bethel, this rumor now appears to have been confirmed. A final release date has not yet been set for the series.
It looks like most of the Marvel’s Defenders will be getting a new season this year, as Jeph Loeb has confirmed that we will see Marvel’s Iron Fist Season 2 later this year, with Daredevil Season 3 hitting in 2019. Marvel’s Iron Fist will again star Finn Jones as the titular hero, Danny Rand. The cast for the series will also include the return of Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Tom Pelphrey as Ward Meachum, Jessica Stroup as Joy Meachum, and Sacha Dhawan as Danny’s childhood friend Davos.
However, for fans of the crossover series itself, you shouldn’t be holding your breath, as there are currently no plans for a Marvel’s Defenders Season 2, but it’s not completely out of the question.
Not in the plans right now, but you never know….We loved Defenders and so did our fans. We’ll see about doing it again — as you can guess it messes with the schedules on other shows – so do you want more Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones or another Defenders?
If you stuck around to the end for Marvel’s Defenders, well after the credits, you would’ve seen the first trailer for the upcoming Marvel’s The Punisher series starring Jon Bernthal (we also posted it on Friday). Now, Netflix has released a new image of the vigilante in all his skull-emblazoned glory.
Jon Bernthal will reprise his role as Frank Castle from Marvel’s Daredevil where he’s joined by newcomers Ben Barnes as Billy Russo, aka Jigsaw, Frank’s Castle’s former friend from his Special Forces days who runs a successful private military corporation called Anvil.
For the few that binged the entirety of The Defenders since its release this morning, you received a gift in the form of the first Punisher trailer. The rest of us? Well, it’s been leaked online! The trailer is short but does a good job of showing the tone of what to expect from the ultra-violent vigilante.
We get shots of Frank Castle reliving his time in the Middle East, as well as the murder and memories of his family, interspersed with the man himself pummeling a concrete floor, revealing the iconic skull logo. Hit the jump to check out the trailer, which was posted on Twitter.

Well, ignore that previous final trailer, because it totally wasn’t the real final trailer. With hours remaining until The Defenders hits Netflix, they’ve decided to drop one more trailer on us, with plenty more footage of the series. How they’ve been able to keep so many mysteries with all of this footage unveiled is beyond me.
The final trailer is a doozy showing not only teamwork between our heroes, but dissension, as well. Iron Fist going toe-to-toe with Daredevil would be a hell of a thing to watch, so needless to say, I’m pretty damn excited for this show to go live tomorrow!
Marvel’s The Defenders releases in less than a week, and to celebrate the occasion, Netflix has released the final trailer for the superhero television team-up. The final trailer gives us plenty more footage from several of the fights we’ve already seen, as well as a bit more banter between our heroes.
Marvel’s The Defenders follows Matt Murdock/Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Danny Rand/Iron Fist (Finn Jones), a quartet of singular heroes with one common goal – to save New York City, from its most diabolical villain yet: a mysterious woman named Alexandria (Sigourney Weaver). Hit the jump to check out the final trailer.

Netflix has debuted a new trailer for The Defenders, with less than a month before the release of the mini-series, and it gives us a ton of new footage, with a better look at Sigourney Weaver in her mysterious and villainous role, as well as banter between our heroes, both in and out of costume.
The new trailer is the best so far, and really sells the dynamic between all of them. I’m really hoping this works out, and the series format allows our heroes to find chemistry with each other in the best, most organic ways.
Marvel Studios has unveiled two new posters that they’ll be giving out to attendees at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. The first, seen above, is a cool promotional poster for The Defenders featuring our 4 heroes in what amounts to their costumes at this point, stylized with a colorful New York back-drop.
The second, however, seen after the jump, gives us our first look at The Punisher logo, and the usual stylized artwork of Frank Castle holding a sniper rifle, bloodied and battered. It’s a cool poster, that falls in line with the usual initial style these posters are released as. Hopefully, we’ll see some sort of trailer or footage at SDCC!

Empire Online has debuted a new promotional image for The Defenders, the upcoming team-up series between the Netflix Marvel characters. A new full trailer is expected for the series, soon, as we have just over a month till it debuts and have yet to see too much, which truthfully does not bode well.
Check out the group shot above, and be sure to keep an eye out for more. The Defenders hit Netflix on August 18th.
Marvel Studios has announced two new additions to the cast of Luke Cage Season 2, and they’re both going to be somewhat familiar to comic fans. Mustafa Shakir (The Deuce, The Night Of) and Gabrielle Dennis (Insecure, Rosewood) have joined the cast as John Bushmaster, and Tilda Johnson, respectively.
John Bushmaster is a crime boss, and enemy of Cage who is described as “a natural leader, brimming with charisma, whose mission is focused on Harlem and vengeance.” While Tilda Johnson, better known for her codename, Nightshade, is said to be “a brilliant, holistic doctor with a complicated history in Harlem where, as much as she tries to stay far from trouble, it seems to always find her.” Luke Cage Season 2 premieres in 2018.
There’s most likely a new Defenders trailer arriving soon, as the crossover-series is set to hit in less than 2 months. We just got a new motion poster for each member of the Defenders, as well as a new one-sheet for the series, as well.
The motion posters feature a few action shots of each character, as well as a line of dialogue, set to the sounds of Nirvana’s “Come As You Are.” Hit the jump to check out Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist in motion, as well as a shot at the full poster.

We knew that Jessica Jones was absolutely getting a second season next year, as that confirmation is already out there. We also know that Luke Cage was filming its second season later this year, implying a mid-to-late 2018 release, as well. However, Entertainment Weekly has also put out there that the 3rd season of Daredevil will be released next year, as well.
It makes sense that Netflix would start putting out a yearly 3 new seasons each year, as that’s the plan starting this year, with The Defenders on August 18th, and Punisher slated for a November release.
It’s been a busy year for Netflix’s Marvel series, and it’s only getting busier. The Defenders comes out later this year, August 18th to be exact, and it looks like The Punisher will be joining it come this November.
In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, director Dearbhla Walsh let slip the series general release date of November, while discussing her first television projects outside of the U.K.
I’ve directed one other time that hasn’t been aired yet, which was an episode for the new Marvel series The Punisher, which I did just before Christmas, but it’s not airing until November. I directed that in New York and edited in L.A., but this was my first directing experience in lovely Canada.
