This includes Ian McShane as Hellboy’s adoptive father, Professor Trevor Bruttenholm (aka Professor Broom), Milla Jovovich as Nimue (aka the Blood Queen), Sasha Lane as Alice Monaghan, and Daniel Dae Kim as Major Ben Daimio.
Based on the acclaimed graphic novels by Mike Mignola, the story follows Hellboy (David Harbour) in the early days of the BPRD, caught between the worlds of the supernatural and human, as he battles an ancient sorceress bent on revenge.

After Ed Skrein took a stand against Hollywood white-washing, and dropped out of the Hellboy remake, the studio has wised up. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Daniel Dae Kim is currently in final talks to take on the role of Major Ben Daimio, a member of the BPRD that can transform into a jaguar after being cursed.
This casting is absolutely on the money, and Daniel Dae Kim could absolutely crush this role. After a slight hiccup, Hellboy seems to be back on track.
The Hollywood Reporter has word that Ed Skrein (Deadpool, Game of Thrones) is in final talks to co-star in Hellboy, alongside David Harbour as Hellboy, Milla Jovovich as the villainous Blood Queen, and Ian McShane as Professor Broom. Skrein is set to play Major Benjamin Daimio, a former U.S. Marine who joins the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense after a supernatural encounter gives him the ability to turn into a jaguar.
Hellboy is set to begin shooting early next month, with a tentative release date for late 2018.
Let’s start with the bad news: we are absolutely 100% not seeing Ron Perlman reprise his role as Big Red, with Guillermo Del Toro at the helm of Hellboy 3. That’s not happening. However, let’s move on to the good news. Hellboy is getting a rated R reboot, with director Neil Marshall (Game of Thrones, The Descent, Constantine, Doomsday) at the helm. The other amazing bit? Stranger Things star, David Harbour, has been cast as Hellboy.
The working title is currently Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen, based on a script written by Mike Mignola, Andrew Cosby, and Christopher Golden. Millennium is in talks with producers Larry Gordon and Lloyd Levin for the film, as well Mike Richardson of Dark Horse Entertainment. Currently, there’s no news regarding the story of the film itself, or any additional casting, but so far, while not Hellboy 3. This sounds fucking rad.
