In what is certainly a long time coming, Deadline is reporting that Kevin Feige has officially become Marvel’s Chief Creative Officer, with Joe Quesada staying on as a “Creative Lead.”
This new deal will be finalized by the end of the week, with Feige overseeing Marvel projects spanning virtually every medium, including film, TV (both live-action and animation), as well as publishing. Deadline notes that Marvel Television and Marvel Family Entertainment will officially be under his control after years of frustrating creative separation. Feige will continue to report to Disney Co-Chairman and Chief Creative Officer Alan Horn and Co-Chairman Alan Bergman.
Additionally, Dan Buckley will continue as the President of Marvel Entertainment, with Ike Perlmutter staying on as Chairman. Buckley will report to Feige with publishing creative and editorial ventures. Unfortunately, he must also report to Perlmutter on matters of publishing operations, sales, creative services, games, licensing and events.
