Ray Park fans, you can now be sad. Paramount has decided to re-cast the aging Martial Artist. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians) has been cast in the lead role in the upcoming G.I. Joe spin-off film, Snake Eyes.
Making his live-action debut in G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra, Snake Eyes was portrayed by Ray Park, and marked himself as the lone bright spot in a universally panned film.
A long-time mystery and fan-favorite character in the G.I. Joe Universe, Snake Eyes is a skilled ninja who, after a helicopter crash, lost his voice and scarred his entire body. His origins are still unknown for the most part, though his relationship with Cobra member, Storm Shadow, is documented and a main part of his lore.
Snake Eyes is set to hit theaters on March 27th, 2020, leaving little time for production at this point for the film.
