Mortal Kombat Animated Movie In The Works

According to Revenge of the Fans, Joel McHale (Community) has landed a secret role in what will presumably be a direct to home video release for an upcoming Mortal Kombat animated movie. There have been rumblings of a live-action movie for years, particularly after the release of the successful web-series, Mortal Kombat: Legacy.

Nothing is known about the story, but we do presumably already have a voice cast for the film that includes Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter), Darin DePaul (Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV), Fred Tatasciore (Tangled), Grey Griffin (The Fairly Oddparents), Ike Amadi (Avengers Assemble), Kevin Michael Richardson (The Batman), Patrick Seitz (Redline), Robin Atkin Downes (Suicide Squad), Steve Blum (Cowboy Bebop), and Jordan Rodrigues (Lady Bird). Any guesses as to their roles? Though still unknown, Seitz voiced Scorpion in more recent games, with Blum often voicing Sub-Zero. Maybe McHale is Johnny Cage?
