After a long and intensive search, the much-anticipated Black Widow solo movie finally has a director. The Hollywood Reporter is bringing word that Australian director Cate Shortland will helm the Marvel Studios movie starring Scarlett Johansson. Shortland’s past credits include World War II drama Lore, and horror film Berlin Syndrome from last year.
THR is also reporting that Jac Schaeffer has penned the most recent draft of the script for the film. Additionally, the Black Widow movie will be a prequel and is set before the events of Marvel’s The Avengers.
