We’ve known for years that Universal Pictures has planned to turn their classic Monster universe into a shared world. One that was meant to start with Dracula Untold, but will now begin with next month’s The Mummy. Now, we have a formal announcement a ton more information on the world. The logo, seen above, confirms the name of the shared world, and the Official Website (Click Here), confirms that the next film will be Bride of Frankenstein, releasing February 14, 2019 – directed by Bill Condon (Beauty and the Beast).
The other massive takeaway is confirmation that Javier Bardem has officially signed on to play Frankenstein’s Monster, and Johnny Depp has also signed on to the play The Invisible Man. They join Tom Cruise’s Nick Morton, Russell Crowe’s Dr. Henry Jekyll, and Sofia Boutella’s title character, Mummy, in the Dark Universe.
