SNK is turning 40 this year, and on top of a great collection of games releasing soon, they’ve also announced that they’ll be working on a new piece of hardware, or game machine. In the announcement tweet, SNK Japan refers to the hardware as an “atarashii geemuki” (新しいゲーム機), or “new game machine.”
SNK was the creator of the famed Neo-Geo system, discontinued in the 90’s, as well as a revival Neo-Geo handheld system in the late 2000’s. It’s likely that we may see another new mini game machine, like NES and SNES Classic Editions on store shelves, soon.
